Blue Ambition: Erik Knight

Blue Ambition: Erik Knight

First time director Erik Knight’s horror/thriller project “Jessica’s Room” is a textbook example of the American dream:  Figure out what you want, get after it and don’t let anything stand in your way.

Erik found himself seduced by the cinematic production process and decided to do something about it.  He started typing and within 30 days finished a script.  He then decided to produce and direct his script himself, with no knowledge or prior experience and next to no budget.  He wrapped production after three and a half months.  Then, who taught himself to do all the special effects?  That’s right, every visual effect you see in the movie was created by Erik.

When we filmed this interview, Erik was hip deep in the post production process for “Jessica’s Room”.  Since then, he has released the project on YouTube and it has become an international sensation with over 1.7 million views and careening rapidly toward 2 million.

Enjoy this interview where Erik speaks about the origins of his debut project, the pains of being labelled an artist and more.
