It’s a Saturday night at The Cornfield, and the flaming exhibition at the Flow Arts Stage is kicking fiery ass. I was invited by Le Sirenes to document their performance, and the gracious Flow Arts hosts L.A. Fire Brigade and their media wrangler Pear Bear were kind enough to let me utilize their media tower to shoot the show.
Le Sirenes’ show is an action packed spectacle, to be sure: There are several types of fire tools, acrobatics, grinding, aerialists, vocalists, pumping beats, wicked wardrobe styling and beautiful body paint, all in all a dynamic and visually captivating experience. But there is also a narrative and a message embedded within the theatrics, one of sublimating the powerful and sometimes destructive potency of female sexuality.
These Sirens are true artists. It was a genuine pleasure to watch, enjoy some highlights below.
